ajoite-quartz-blue-crystal-with-copper-61619
Ajoite Quartz | Blue Crystal with Copper Inclusions, rare mineral specimen from South Africa

Ajoite is a rare copper-based mineral that sometimes appears as inclusions inside quartz crystals. This exceptional specimen features both electric-blue ajoite inclusions and delicate needles of native copper. Most often, as is relevant here, these crystals are polished to provide a better view of the ajoite, as the quartz is generally milky and often has an outer crust. This piece features one prominent spray of intensely saturated ajoite inclusions, along with a smaller spray on the adjoining cluster of quartz crystals. The main crystal is doubly terminated. The renowned ajoite quartz from the Messina Mine is particularly associated with the No. 5 Shaft, where significant discoveries in 1985 and again in 1991 produced some of the finest material known from the locality. This is an exceptionally aesthetic small cabinet display piece, with material of this caliber rarely entering the market.

Size: 11 x 5.5 x 5.2 Cm
Weight: 316g
(Conversion: 1 inch = 25mm)

Origin: Messina Mine, No. 5 Shaft, Musina, Limpopo, South Africa (circa 1985–1991)

Please note that this is a natural product, sometimes stones and crystals have small imperfections and blemishes.

Make sure to double check measurements/ weights and view all the photos before making a purchase.

By purchasing from Spirit Nectar you agree to comply with all of our shop policies.

Crystal will be shipped with protective padding.
