Descloizite from Namibia is a vanadium-rich zinc mineral typically found in the oxidized zones of base metal deposits. The most notable specimens come from the Berg Aukas Mine, where descloizite occurs as reddish-brown to nearly black prismatic or bladed crystals, often forming dense, sparkling clusters. Its composition can vary, with iron sometimes substituting for zinc, leading to darker coloration. These Namibian specimens are among the finest known, appreciated for their sharp crystal form and rich lustre. This is an exceptional old-collection specimen, the calibre of which rarely hit the market!
