Pink fluorapatite from Pakistan is a striking and rare variety of the apatite mineral group, found mainly in high-altitude pegmatites of Gilgit-Baltistan, particularly in the Shigar district. These crystals display soft to vivid shades of pink, often with good transparency and luster, forming sharp hexagonal prisms on matrices of muscovite or albite. These specimens fluoresce a vibrant yellow under shortwave UV light.
