Hyalite opal from Namibia is occasionally found alongside smoky quartz and black tourmaline, creating a dramatic and visually striking association. The clear to white, glassy opal often forms as globules or thin, sparkling coatings that contrast with the deep, earthy tones of smoky quartz and the bold, jet-black crystals of tourmaline. When illuminated by ultraviolet light, the hyalite comes alive with a vibrant green fluorescence, adding an otherworldly glow to the specimen.

A 255nm shortwave UV light is recommended for Hyalite Opal to display optimal fluorescence as shown in the photos. Different wavelengths may produce a weaker glow.
