Aurichalcite from Arizona is a delicate and visually striking secondary mineral that forms in the oxidized zones of copper and zinc deposits. It is most often found as soft, fibrous or feathery crystal aggregates in vibrant shades of sky blue to bluish-green, typically coating rock surfaces or nestled within cavities. Due to its fragility and vibrant color, it is highly prized by collectors but is too soft and unstable for most practical uses.
