Grandidierite is one of the world’s rarest gemstones, prized for its translucent blue-green hues. It was discovered in Madagascar in 1902 and named after French explorer Alfred Grandidier. This borosilicate mineral is so scarce that gem-quality specimens are found in only a handful of localities.
