Scapolite var. Marialite on Feldspar Matrix (Afghanistan) | purple scapolite crystal, rare mineral specimen

A lovely crystal of vibrant purple Scapolite var. Marialite on Feldspar matrix from Afghanistan. Glassy lustre and translucent to transparent sections throughout, with striations going down the long crystal faces. Partially terminated at the tip, there is some damage to the backside of the termination, but this is easily hidden in display. The crystal is perched aesthetically in its feldspar matrix. Some lines from cutting are visible in the white matrix. This specimen has been irradiated. Fluoresces a vibrant pink-red under shortwave UV light.
