On this specimen, well-formed crystals of fluorite, smoky quartz, feldspar, and lustrous black tourmaline, are intricately intergrown, creating a beautiful contrast between the minerals. The complex intergrowth of multiple well-developed crystal species gives the specimen exceptional visual interest, while the hyalite opal can display an intense green fluorescence under shortwave ultraviolet illumination. This unusual combination of minerals makes for a highly aesthetic and distinctive Namibian specimen.
