Ajoite is a rare copper-based mineral that appears as inclusions inside quartz crystals. This ajoite was extracted from the no.5 shaft in 1984. It features both the electric blue ajoite inclusions, as well as thin needles of native copper. Most often, as is relevant here, the crystals are polished to give a better view of the ajoite, as the crystals are generally milky. This one features three prominent sprays of ajoite inclusions, and one smaller spray on the adjoining cluster of smaller quartz crystals. This is an incredibly aesthetic small cabinet display piece, material of this caliber rarely enters the market.
