Goshenite is the colorless to near-colorless variety of beryl, a beryllium aluminum silicate mineral that also occurs as emerald, aquamarine, and morganite. Namibian goshenite is known for its transparency and well-developed crystal forms. Crystals from the Erongo Mountains commonly occur as prismatic, well-terminated specimens, sometimes displaying excellent clarity and vitreous luster.
