Boltwoodite is a yellow to orange-yellow hydrated U silicate mineral that often forms as fibrous crusts or aggregates on rock surfaces. It develops in the oxidized zones of U-bearing deposits and is admired for its bright coloration and silky sheen. Namibian specimens are especially valued for their vivid hues and well-defined crystal habits.
