Carnelian from Madagascar is a vibrant red to orange-brown variety of chalcedony, a microcrystalline form of quartz. Known for its rich, warm tones and smooth polish, it often displays subtle banding or cloudy inclusions that add depth to the stone’s appearance. Madagascar sources are prized for producing pieces with saturated color and excellent translucency.
The photographs in the listing represent the variety in our collection. The unique specimen you receive will be similar to the stones pictured, and will have its own unique traits.
Please note that this is a natural product, sometimes stones and crystals have small imperfections and blemishes. Carnelian frequently has druzy pockets and other cavernous irregularities.
