Celestite on calcite is prized for its unusually saturated, gemmy deep blue celestite crystals that sit attractively on a sculptural dogtooth calcite matrix. The celestite crystals from Laman tend to be well-terminated, translucent, and show excellent luster and color concentration for the species, often forming stout tabular/prismatic habits that visually contrast with the scalenohedral, golden-yellow calcite that both frames and supports them.
