Conichalcite is a striking copper arsenate mineral best known for its vivid green to yellowish-green coloration and distinctive fibrous or botryoidal forms. Conichalcite is a secondary mineral that forms in the oxidized zones of copper deposits, where it is often associated with minerals such as calcite, limonite, malachite, and azurite. Specimens from the historic Laurion mining district of Greece, particularly the Kamariza area, are known for their attractive green conichalcite occurring on contrasting matrix minerals.
