Cornetite from Nevada is an uncommon and visually distinctive copper phosphate mineral, known for its vibrant blue to blue-green coloration and silky to vitreous luster. It typically forms in the oxidized zones of copper deposits, where it develops as fibrous crusts, radiating sprays, or compact masses coating the host rock. Although cornetite is more famously associated with deposits in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Nevada specimens are valued by collectors for their rarity and the unique textures they display, making them an appealing and unusual addition to mineral collections.
