Namibia's long closed Tsumeb mine is famous for its superb smithsonite specimens, which are often considered the world's best, occurring in every color variation. This is a specimen of the prized cuprian variety, with a vivid green color, and wonderful silky lustre. The smithsonite sits atop a grey-brown matrix.
