Dioptase from Namibia is renowned for its intense emerald-green color and clarity, making it some of the finest in the world. Found primarily in the Tsumeb and Kaokoveld regions, Namibian dioptase forms in the oxidized zones of copper deposits, where it crystallizes in striking prismatic forms, often on contrasting white or tan matrix. These crystals are highly lustrous and typically transparent to translucent, with vibrant color that rivals the finest gemstones. This specimen also features a crust of pale blue chrysocolla on one side.
