Ettringite is a rare calcium aluminum sulfate mineral best known for its delicate crystals and soft white to yellow color. While often microscopic in size, exceptional specimens, particularly those from the N’Chwaning Mine in South Africa, display larger clusters that make them highly sought after by collectors. This is an exceptional thumbnail specimen with tiny, sparkling ettringite crystals packed together tightly. The piece has an incredibly vibrant shade of greenish yellow, with the tiny glittering crystals creating a textured surface.
