Rather than being a single mineral species, garnierite is a general term for a group of green nickel-bearing phyllosilicates, often forming in smooth, vein-like masses. Its coloration ranges from pale mint to rich apple and deep emerald green, sometimes contrasted with earthy browns or grey feldspar matrix.
