Golden selenite from Saskatchewan is a striking variety of selenite characterized by its warm, honey gold to amber tones. It forms in rosette-like clusters, often called “gypsum roses” or “selenite rosettes.” These formations consist of multiple blade shaped crystals radiating outward from a central point, creating a flower-like appearance. This selenite fluoresces under both shortwave and longwave UV light. It displays good phosphorescence for a short period after the UV light is turned off.
