Orange hessonite garnet from West Redding, Connecticut is known for its rich cinnamon to amber coloration and massive skarn-style formations. Occurring in a unique calcium-rich metamorphic deposit, the garnet formed through metasomatic alteration along the contact between marble and schist units, often alongside diopside and quartz. These historic specimens are appreciated for their unusual geology, saturated color, and classic association with northeastern American mineral collecting.
