Kasolite is a rare hydrated mineral composed of Pb, U, silicon, oxygen, and hydrogen. It crystallizes in the monoclinic system and typically forms stout prismatic to lath-like crystals, sometimes occurring as aggregates or pseudomorphs. Its color ranges from ocher yellow and lemon yellow to amber brown, orange, green, or reddish orange, with a sub-adamantine to greasy luster. Kasolite from the Mupine Mine in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is particularly noted for its yellow to orange crystals occurring on or with green malachite.
