Hyalite Opal from Namibia is a transparent to translucent form of opal that exhibits a glassy lustre and is known for its bright green fluorescence under ultraviolet (UV) light. This variety of hyalite opal fluoresces yellow even under natural sunlight, which is referred to as “daylight fluorescent”. This is a very rare and unusual property among minerals.
You will receive ONE stone chosen at random. Clarity and shapes will vary, please look through all the photos to see what kind of variety to expect. Some pieces may contain matrix or other minerals such as smoky quartz or black tourmaline. Measurements are a loose guide, use photo #2 as a reference to choose your size:

Hyalite opal fluoresces best under short wave UV light, a 255nm - 265nm light is recommended. These hyalite opals will fluoresce less under long wave UV light, so it is important that your light emits the correct wavelength. These opals are colourless to pale yellow under artificial light, and a more vibrant yellow under natural sunlight.
Please note that this is a natural product, sometimes stones and crystals have small imperfections and blemishes.
