Pink fluorapatite with black tourmaline from Pakistan is a striking and sought-after mineral combination, found primarily in the high altitude pegmatites of Gilgit-Baltistan, particularly the Shigar District. These specimens feature lustrous pink fluorapatite crystals displaying soft blush to vivid rose hues, often with excellent transparency and well-defined hexagonal prisms, beautifully contrasted by jet-black schorl (black tourmaline) crystals. The dramatic color contrast and aesthetic crystal associations make these specimens especially desirable among collectors. Under shortwave (255 nm) UV light, the fluorapatite fluoresces in shades ranging from pale to vibrant yellow, adding another captivating dimension to these exceptional pieces.
