Most purple scapolite specimens from Afghanistan have undergone heat treatment to enhance or stabilize their violet coloration, a practice that is standard for this mineral. Some specimens are further enhanced by associated dark green diopside crystals, which add visual interest and create striking color contrasts. Afghan localities are known for producing aesthetic, collector-quality specimens with exceptional crystal definition and pleasing mineral associations.
