Spessartine garnet is a vibrant member of the garnet group known for its rich orange to reddish-orange coloration. One of the notable sources of fine spessartine is Pakistan, particularly the Gilgit-Baltistan region, where it occurs in granite pegmatites alongside minerals like tourmaline, mica, and feldspar. Pakistani spessartine garnets are celebrated for their strong color saturation, transparency, and well-formed dodecahedral or trapezohedral crystals. This specimen features sparkling green epidote, adding a nice contrast to the orange garnet crystals.
