Tumbled hackmanite from Pakistan is a rare sodalite‐family gemstone, celebrated for its soft lavender to blue tones in regular light and its dramatic color shift, often glowing vivid pink or orange under UV light. The polished, smooth form accentuates the tenebrescent and fluorescent effects.
Hackmanite is especially difficult to polish, so expect some rough areas. The stones appear a pale mix of white and purple under natural or normal light, but glow a vivid orange under UV lighting (also known as “black light”). A longwave 365nm or 395nm light is recommended.
