Hyalite Opal from Namibia is a transparent to translucent form of opal that exhibits a glassy lustre and is known for its bright green fluorescence under ultraviolet (UV) light. It forms as botryoidal or crust-like coatings on host rock, creating sparkling, bubbly surfaces that catch the light beautifully. This piece features a rare combination with aquamarine, which is the blue form of the mineral beryl.

A 255nm shortwave UV light is recommended for Hyalite Opal to display optimal fluorescence as shown in the photos. Different wavelengths may produce a weaker glow.
